Information you provide

If you join the newsletter, we store your email address, optional name, signup source, subscription status, and subscription or unsubscribe timestamps. If you contact us, we store the name, email, topic, message, optional page address, status, and submission time needed to respond.

If you use account features, account and authentication details may be stored along with content you save, such as favorites, reading history, or notes.

Analytics and infrastructure

Cloudflare processes technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site. Google Analytics is loaded only after you choose “Allow analytics” in the site privacy controls. Your choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it.

Analytics helps us understand aggregate page use, navigation, and form performance. When you allow analytics, our private community report connects your last forum entry page with registration, approved participation and a signed-in return after 24 hours. Entry links expire after 30 days; registration attribution is excluded after 90 days and removed the next time the owner opens the report. Google receives no account names, post text or calculator values. Do not include health records, passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information in forms or free-text fields.

Community discussions

The forum publishes your username, display name, profile bio and approved contributions. Members register with a username and password; no email is collected. Display names are not verified identities. Member posts and replies are reviewed before publication; do not include private health or contact information.

The forum stores a secret-key hash of your IP address and your browser’s user-agent to limit abuse. Cloudflare hosts the forum. The open source ALTCHA bot check runs on your device and is verified by this website. Signed-in members and moderators use a necessary, secure session cookie. Passwords and recovery codes are stored as hashes. Saved topics, watched topics and notifications are private to your account. Settings lets you edit your profile, change your password, sign out other sessions and delete your account. Deletion removes the profile and saved activity; existing posts remain as “Former member.” Keep your recovery code safe to reset a forgotten password. To request correction or removal, use our contact form. Read more about the forum.

How we use and retain data

We use submitted information to deliver requested services, operate and secure the website, respond to messages, honor unsubscribe requests, and improve content. We keep information only as long as needed for those purposes, legitimate recordkeeping, security, and legal obligations.

Your choices

You can change your analytics choice using Privacy choices in the footer. Choosing Essential only clears the saved entry link and, while signed in, removes your optional forum attribution record. Account deletion also removes that record. You can use the unsubscribe page. To request access, correction, or deletion, use the contact form and select “Privacy request.”
